One of the biggest trends in the construction industry at the moment is green construction and sustainability. Recent legislation, government incentives and research have led to new measures being taken to design and construct new buildings efficiently and sustainably. Measures include developments and changes in the construction process, building materials and products.

However, this is easiest to implement in new build projects; retrofits and refurbishments present a bigger challenge.

Interestingly, it is this retrofit market that represents the biggest potential and holds the most urgency.

Heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment being installed into existing buildings needs to be cleverly designed. The installation process must be as straightforward as possible. The system needs to fit into the existing building space, without extensive building works and disruption. This can pose a problem as there may be limited ceiling or wall spaces, meaning wall and ceiling mounted units are not a viable option. The system also needs to blend into or complement the existing interior design.

The Ingenious Air® Small Duct System is the ideal solution for most retrofit projects:

The system uses discreet air outlets, which come in a range of colour and compositions.  They can even be painted to create an exact match!

Air Conditioning Outlets

The Ingenious Air® Small Duct System uses small, versatile mini ducts which can fit in small spaces and voids. The unobtrusive air outlets can be positioned in ceiling, walls and floors, making use of all available space.

At the core of The Ingenious Air® Small Duct System is a central air handling unit. This can be conveniently located in any available cupboard, machine room or loft space. The system allows for longer duct runs so the unit can be positioned away from the conditioned space.

In addition, the air handling unit allows for 32 different positioning options. This flexibility helps solve the issue of installing in confined spaces: it may stand upright or be laid down to fit the area.

The Ingenious Air® Small Duct System is compatible with a variety of different ductworks and works with transition pieces of ductwork without any effect to operation. This can be necessary and cost effective for replacement projects. It allows the system to use all, or make use of most, existing ductwork.
